Customers and accounts
Every site has its own customer accounts. A customer of your shop is not a Chirai user — they belong to your site only, and the same email can have separate accounts on different sites.
Customers can register with email and password, reset a forgotten password by email, and — if you switch it on in Manage site → Shop & business — use Continue with Google.
The account page
Signed-in customers see /account: their profile (which they can edit), their own records — orders, bookings, applications, complaints, whatever your site stores — and sign out. The navbar shows Account instead of Sign in while they're signed in.
Privacy rights, built in
- Download my data gives the customer a file with everything your site stores about them.
- Delete account removes their account and personal records.
- The privacy page names your business and grievance officer and includes the rights paragraph for your region (India's DPDP Act, GDPR for the EU/UK, or US wording).
Who can see what
Each site's database has access rules: anyone can read your catalogue (products, posts, listings); a customer can read and change only their own records; contact and order forms can be submitted but not read back by visitors. Every build is tested with two test accounts trying to read and change each other's data. See Data and security.
